La
pratique de la compilation de textes d’autres auteurs qui existait
déjà depuis l’Antiquité, se développa durant le Moyen Age à l’aide de
diverses techniques d’organisation du matériel qui connurent une
diffusion considérable et qui parvinrent à donner vie à divers genres
littéraires tels que l’encyclopédie, le florilège et le compendium.
Les
productions de ce type appartiennent, d’un point de vue littéraire, à
la littérature d’emprunt ou de plagiat et pour cette raison a abouti à
des oeuvres de moindre importance, même si ce type de “littérature au
second degré” a reçu une plus grande attention actuellement.
L’objectif
du Colloque est d’analyser la pratique de la compilation sous ses
différents aspects et de déterminer, d’une part, la portée de sa
contribution au savoir médiéval et, d’autre part, son rôle comme
instrument du travail intellectuel et comme intermédiaire pour la
transmission de la culture.
In memoriam Ana María Aldama Roy
Le
Colloque, tant par son thème que par le lieu dans lequel il aura
lieu, s’avère être le moment idéal pour honorer la mémoire de Ana Maria
Aldama Roy, qui fut professeur au Département de Filologie Latine de
l’Université Complutense de Madrid, et s’est consacrée avec intérêt et
grande efficacité à l’étude des florilèges latins.
Présentation des communications
Les spécialistes souhaitant participer devraient envoyer au plus tard le 31 janvier 2012 un résumé de leur communication (qui ne devra pas dépasser 20 minutes lors de l’exposé) à l’adresse suivante : fidem2012@gmail.com. Le résumé de 10 à 20 lignes maximum, devra être envoyé en format Word.
Les communications qui seront sélectionnées seront publiées dans la collection de la FIDEM “Textes et Etudes du moyen âge”.
Bourses de participation
Des
bourses seront attribuées par la FIDEM à de jeunes chercheurs
membres individuels de la FIDEM ou d’une institution membre, ayant
moins de 35 ans, afin de faciliter leur participation à la rencontre.
Leurs demandes (accompagnées d'un résumé de la communication, d’un CV
et d’une lettre de recommandation d’un professeur) doivent être reçues jusque le 25 février 2012 par le Secrétaire de la FIDEM, soit par email: fidem@letras.up.pt,
soit par courrier: Prof. José Meirinhos, Faculdade de Letras do
Porto, Via Panorâmica s/n, P-4150-564 PORTO (Portugal). L'attribution
sera annoncée le 31 mars 2012 par email aux candidats.

The Compilation of Knowledge in the Middle Ages
The
practice of the compilation of texts of other authors, which existed
already from the Antiquity, developed during the Middle Ages with
various techniques of organization of the material, experiencing a great
diffusion and producing various literary genres, as encyclopaedias, florilegia and compendia.
Productions
of this kind belong, from a literary point of view, to the so-called
“literature of borrowing or of plagiarism” and, for this reason,
produced works of less importance, though this literature “of second
degree” is receiving increasing attention at the present time.
The
aim of this Colloquium is to analyze the practice of the compilation
in its various aspects and to determine, on the one hand, the
implications of its contribution to medieval knowledge, and, on the
other hand, its role as an instrument of intellectual work and as
mediator for the transmission of culture.
In memoriam Ana María Aldama Roy
The
colloquium, because of his topic and the place where it is celebrated,
is the suitable space to honour the memory of Ana María Aldama Roy,
who was a professor of the Department of Latin Philology at Universidad
Complutense de Madrid and who devoted herself with interestand profit
to the study of the to the study of the Latin florilegia.
Presentation of papers
The scholars interested in participating to the Colloquium must send before January 31 2012
an abstract of their proposal (that will not exceed twenty minutes of
time) to the following direction of e-mail: fidem2012mail.com. The
abstracts with an extension of 10-20 lines, must be sent in Word
format.
The selected papers of the Colloquium will be published by Brepols in the collection “Textes et Études du Moyen Âge”.
Participation scholarships
FIDEM
will give scholarships of assistance to young scholars under-35s, who
are individual members or belong to an institution member of the FIDEM,
in order to facilitate their participation in the Colloquium. Their
requests (accompanied by the abstract of their papers, the curriculum vitae and a letter of recommendation a professor) must be sent by the 25th February 2012 by e-mail: fidem@letras.up.pt or by mail to the Secretary of the FIDEM: Prof. José Meirinhos,
Faculdade de Letras do Porto, Via Panorâmica s/n, P-4150-564 Porto
(Portugal). The approval will be announced by e-mail to the candidates
on March 31.
